Emily Bergstrom is an accomplished leader with over 15 years of experience managing people, operations, and products. For the last 12 years, Emily worked at McMaster-Carr Supply Co, a privately held industrial supplies distributor much loved and respected by makers worldwide. During her career there, she was exposed to every aspect of the business from product management to operations to sales and accounting. Emily’s time at McMaster-Carr taught her the importance of listening – to customers, to business partners, and to employees.
Emily’s first job in high school was at a retail greenhouse. She later worked at Michigan State University’s teaching greenhouses and at a retail florist to pay her way through college. She’s been a plant lover from an early age, so joining the green industry is an exciting homecoming.
Emily has an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with a focus on operations and economics. She received a prestigious Fulbright scholarship and spent two years abroad in Latin America, becoming fluent in Spanish. She earned her undergraduate degree at Michigan State University and comes from a long line of hard-working Detroiters. Emily lives in Chicago with her husband and two children.
